Meeting Minutes 10/10/01
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Ted Cox at 7:05 P.M. A quorum was present.
Minutes from Last Meeting
Jim Courtney read the minutes from the August meeting. Ted Cox moved to accept
the minutes and the motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report
There was no treasurer’s report.
Correspondence
There was no correspondence.
Old Business
There was no old business.
New Business

It was decided to put off the annual Spaghetti Feed and Auction until the spring timeframe.

Ted Cox started a discussion regarding management of the council building and property,
and in enlisting the help of local groups that use the facilities. Ted suggested a
special meeting to discuss this issue.

CIP list recommendations are due in November. Mike Shields has prepared a letter on behalf
of the council stating that the number one priority is the Old Glenn Highway upgrade. Brit
Lively also brought up Matanuska River erosion, and safety and access at the salmon viewing area.

Michelle Maynor reported that Michelle Church commended the cooperation of Alaska Raceway
Park and the Butte Community Council regarding the sale of the borough parcel for the racetrack.

Brit discussed the growing list of residents who would like community help to clean up their property.

Ted reported that Karen Hollingshead has resigned from the board.

Michelle Maynor volunteered to take the Treasurer position on the board.

A representative from Scott Ogan’s office was in attendance, and spoke to the council. There
will be a meeting this winter with DOT regarding the Old Glenn Highway upgrade.

November 14th is the annual meeting. Elections will be held.

Ted suggested that we hold a special meeting on October 24th to discuss management of council
property. Brit and Ted volunteered to call groups who may be interested.

Brit moved to appoint Michelle Maynor treasurer for the council. The motion passed.
Ted Cox moved to adjourn at 7:58 p.m. The motion passed.
